This Clifford Wallace Australian War Memorial photo was sourced from www.awm.gov.au  Accession Number 013430 and was taken 12 October, 1942 outside the Papua Hotel in Port Moresby.

 

It shows US General Douglas MacArthur and Australian General Blamey as they arrive for their tour of the New Guinea battle area in World War II.

Papuan theatre on Musgrave Street

These photos are of the Papuan theatre on Musgrave Street and were sourced from page 211 of the book “Port Moresby Taim bipo” by Stuart Hawthorne and is provided courtesy of the family of the late Stuart Hawthorne. The lower interior photo is circa 1953.
