Addendum 8: Konedobu
Additional information for Chapter 2 - New Guinea calls and for Chapter 33 - 1945 to 1975 – a time of administrative change for District Commissioners and Public Servants
Konedobu is a suburb of Port Moresby in the National Capital District. It is located between Touaguba Hill and Burns Peak.
Government House is located there as well as the headquarters of the Royal Papua New Guinea Constabulary and numerous Government departments. The Hubert Murray Sports Stadium, the Aviat Club, the Royal Papua Yacht Club, and the Papua New Guinea Post-Courier newspaper headquarters are located in Konedobu (also referred to as 'Kone'). It also contains residential areas. Significant thoroughfares in Konedobu include Lawes Road and the Poreporena Freeway.
